Probus Secundus Club Harpenden

Probus Club Antwerp North

Probus Secundus Club has an informal twinning arrangement with the Probus Club Antwerpen-Noord in Belgium.

This twinning was started in 2006 and since then there have been a number of events involving members of both clubs.  Any member interested in this should contact David Hinton.

The first was in May 2006 when members of both clubs met in the house of an Antwerpen Noord member to discuss the way forward to arrange the twinning.

The next event was in June 2006 when members of Probus Secundus met a group of the Belgian Club members who were on a coach trip to the Cotswolds.  We all met for lunch in Broadway.  Each picture below shows one or two Probus Secundus members talking to the members of Antwerpen Noord club.

In March 2007 Probus Secundus held a lunch at the Harpenden Golf Club and two members of Probus Club Antwerp North attended with their wives.  They stayed in Harpenden for several days with members of Probus Secundus and met others socially.  The photos below were taken at the Golf Club.

In June 2007 two members of Probus Secundus attended the Probus National Day in Oudenaarde (Belgium) as guests of the Antwerpen-Noord Club.  In total this event was attended by over 1000 Probus members.

In May 2009 a group of eight members from Harpenden attended the Belgian National Probus Day which was held in Antwerp.  The members stayed with members of the Antwerpen-Noord club who acted as our hosts throughout the visit.   The pictures below show arrival at the hotel, registration, a walking tour of an old part of Antwerp the lunch itself in the hotel and a reception on the following day at the home of the chairman of the Antwerpen- Noord club.
